Stabbing Arrest

Around midnight on July 17, 2002, Escambia Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a stabbing call in the 9700 Block of Windy Hill Road in Beulah. Upon their arrival, deputies located 15-year-old Daniel Matthew Carter of 9770 Windy Hill Road standing outside of the residence. Carter had blood on his clothing and hands and made

a spontaneous statement indicating that he had stabbed his uncle, at which time deputies entered the residence and found the victim lying on the floor. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Jack Lloyd Carter of Navarre, had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Technicians at 12:07a.m. Daniel Carter was arrested and is currently being held at the Department of Youth Services.

The investigation is continuing and no further information is available at this time.
