1956-2003

James Randall "Jim/Randy" Stokes, age 47 died accidentally on June 11, 2003 with his good friend John B. Johnson. James was born on March 22, 1956. For the past eight years he practiced law in Pensacola, Florida. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He left the Marine Corps in 1993 as a captain. He was a helicopter pilot where he served in the 1991 Persian Gulf War.

He is survived by his parents Douglas L. and Mary Jane Stokes, Brothers; Doug and wife Dora, Mark and wife Roberta, and Sister Leann Zerkel and husband Dennis. He has five nieces and nephews, Jocelyn Stokes Caskey, Emelia Zerkel, Juliet Stokes, Andrew Stokes, and Michael Zerkel.

A unique individual James died doing something he loved, Flying. He was loved and will be truly missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be held at Cedar Hill Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, June 16, 2003 from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM. Funeral Service will be at the Gonzalez United Methodist in Cantonment, FL on Monday, June 16, 2003 at 6:00PM.
