Petition for humane treatment of Daniel Carter

WE THE PEOPLE OF FLORIDA UNDERSIGNED, ASK THAT DANIEL CARTER BE PLACED IN A JUVENILE FACILITY, OR RELASED HOME
The Daniel Carter case demonstrates the clear bias of the legal system against children. When adults are beating children it is never OK for the children to fight back. Children being beaten are denied the legal right to defend themselves. Florida is fast becoming known as a serial child abusing state who uses the courts to brutalize children. Daniel Carters condition has significantly deteriorated in Adult facilities where if he is not immediately sent to a juvenile psychiatric facility he is in danger of doing harm to himself. Given his psychiatric condition, he is being abused in horrible ways in adult jail. This is a tactic used by the State, which forces children to accept unreasonable plea bargains offered by the state of Florida. As citizens of Pensacola, we, the undersigned, do hereby request, treat Daniel as child. Child abuse is illegal and if a state allows it, then the judicial system has failed. In the spirit of Justice we are requesting that Daniel Carter be removed from adult jail to juvenile facilities, the charges lowered to 3rd degree as the State Attorney offered in a plea, so that Daniel can receive a fair trial.
